Befriendme.com

After being a therapist for several years, it became clear to me that in our extraordinarily busy and ever changing lives, it’s often hard for people to find the people they most want to meet. Whether it’s finding the right kind of person to date, someone who shares your unique experience with a particular problem, or someone to play tennis with in your neck of the woods, our website provides a way to quickly and easily match up with who you’re looking for.

BeFriendMe.com is like Facebook in that you create your own profile and have the ability to blog, email and post photos or videos, and it’s like some dating websites in that it matches you with who you’re looking for rather than having to search (like eHarmony vs. Match.com). So it blends the two most important parts of social networking: the ability to share your info with others and the time-saving benefit of being matched with who you’re looking for.

How BeFriendMe.com works is you complete your profile (including your hobbies and interests, career, issues you have experience with, etc.) and you let us know who you’re looking for. Our matching system finds people who match what you’re searching for and emails you. You get to indicate whether we should look locally, for things like creating a carpool or book club or finding some people struggling with a certain illness or problem to create a support group-- or we can search world wide for people to chat with, grow your business with, or travel with. You can match with people based on whatever you choose including hobbies and interests, careers, religion or spirituality, nationality, lifestyle choices, life difficulties (including physical and mental illnesses or disabilities) and more!

What if we discover that our present way of life is irreconcilable with our vocation to become fully human?”

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice and an Iyengar Yoga Instructor, trained at SIYI, the Southern Institute for Yoga Instructors. Other skills include EMDR and Imago Relationship Therapy. My Yoga Therapy training was in Bristol,Vermont at the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy center where I completed Level 1 and Level 2 training. I believe that practicing yoga therapy is truly holistic healing because the body, mind and spirit are each fully involved in this work. My goal is to help people stay present to themselves enough to connect with the divine within and learn to live more deeply from their hearts.
