Experience

I have been in private practice since 2004. Prior to opening my practice, I worked at Foundations Associates as the Director of Outpatient Mental Health Services and at Dual Diganosis Research Management as a researcher, grant writer, and treatment manual writer. I was also an adjunct faculty member at Argosy University, teaching in their Masters of Counseling program. I have served on the boards of NPI (Nashville Psychotherapy Institute) and NET (Nashville EMDR Therapists).

To pretend that we know what a client needs, what the client should do, what choice the client must make, is to deny mystery and to betray the client.
Any thourough-going therapy needs to help the client accept and confront the mystery which enfolds us all…

The Art of the Psychotherapist

Jami Grich, PhD

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice and an Iyengar Yoga Instructor, trained at SIYI, the Southern Institute for Yoga Instructors. Other skills include EMDR and Imago Relationship Therapy. My Yoga Therapy training was in Bristol,Vermont at the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy center where I completed Level 1 and Level 2 training. I believe that practicing yoga therapy is truly holistic healing because the body, mind and spirit are each fully involved in this work. My goal is to help people stay present to themselves enough to connect with the divine within and learn to live more deeply from their hearts.
